The “Enable Force Dark Mode” feature is a unique feature in Chrome that makes forcing dark mode on Google Search possible. This method only works on Google Chrome browser. Since it’s a forced mode, there might be some visual bugs on some web pages with the force dark mode on. It is a handy feature to manually apply dark mode for websites that are not ready for it. With this option enabled, Chrome will automatically render all web contents, including Google homepage, Google search results and all other web pages, using a dark theme. For now, the best we can do is to manually force dark mode on Google Search using the “ Force Dark Mode” feature in Chrome browser on Windows 11, Windows 10 or Android device. Though Google has been testing the dark mode for the past years, there is still no news on when it will be available to the users (as of 2021). Haroun clearly likes to wear many hats, though his favorite is sometimes a mystery.Google Search doesn’t have an official dark mode or night mode. His passion for medicine is still strong, and he’s currently studying for an MBBS degree. He also tapped into his inner gearhead energy to write for automotive sites like HotCars and Vehicle History. Before his foray into tech writing, Haroun crafted several sales articles and landing pages for copywriting agencies. He’s also written several buyer guides (and features) for How-To Geek, recommending the best smartphone and laptop gadgets. He started following the industry for his pleasure around 2014 before eventually taking up a writing role with Android Police. When Haroun was younger, he wanted to be a doctor - he still wants to be one - but the tech bug also bit him. How did it all start, though? The story of his affinity for tech takes us back to a time long ago. His curiosity is only limited by the gadgets he has to play with at any given time. Since then, he’s gleefully covered everything from the most mundane Google Docs features to more mainstream Android and Chrome OS experiences, but he can’t seem to get enough. Haroun joined Android Police in 2021, reporting on the latest stories in the tech world. It's unclear why Google would backtrack on this decision, but as of now, the pitch-black variation is only part of an experiment not available for everyone, so it might not come to full fruition in any case. The company has argued for a long time that black backgrounds are more jarring to the eye than gray backdrops, with most of its services and apps opting for the latter, including Google Search on Android. While Google has been striving to improve the user experience by unifying interfaces across platforms lately, this pitch-black dark mode is a derivation from the formula it has settled on. Instead, it’ll reportedly take advantage of the same underlying theming engine (dubbed "Monet") to derive colors directly from the image result currently in view. The feature is not exactly Material You, which takes bits and pieces of color from your phone’s wallpaper. We previously saw glimpses of a new dynamic color theme for image results. Dark theme is not the only thing brewing for Google Search, though.
